Wholly Unblameable

Colossians 1:21-22 And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now hath He reconciled in the body of His flesh through death, to present you holy and unblameable and unreproveable in His sight.

Our scripture above says that Christ has reconciled us with the Father through the body of His flesh to make us holy and unblameable. It is hard for us to think of ourselves as holy. Like good Presbyterians, we see flaws and failings more easily than goodness, righteousness and holiness.

But there it is in the Bible, so you better get used to it. Through Christ Jesus, you who were far off have been brought near. You who were dirty have been made clean. You who were unworthy have been made holy.

If God says it, it must be true, even if you don’t feel that way, even if you protest like a protestant. In Christ, you are unreprovable. You are wholly unblameble, wholly holy. That is good news, indeed.
