Truth and Mercy

The truth is sometimes frightening to us. When we honestly look at ourselves, our actions, our words, our thoughts, we are confronted with an unpleasant reality. Of course, as Christ works in us, there is much good that we do. He is transforming us from glory to glory. 

But an honest look at ourselves reveals much that we prefer to keep hidden from one another and sometimes from God. But it won’t do to hide your actions, words and thoughts from God. He knows them already. So fess up. Be honest.

The wonderful thing about being in Christ is that He is the place where truth and mercy kiss. The truth is hard to take but God’s grace and mercy are extended to all those who come to the Father in the name of the Son by the power of the Holy Spirit. 

Don’t be afraid of the truth because God’s mercy is also found there.
