Comfort in Affliction
Dear Saints, even the great King David was dismayed in times of trouble. He wanted deliverance and was reduced to anguish, terror, fear and trembling. He longed to escape the fiery trial and wished for wings to fly far away.
But instead of flying away, or acting as one who has no hope, he turned to God. He called upon the Lord. He saw the Lord through his trouble and very likely because of His trouble.
The Lord did not disappoint him. As David calls out to God, he bolsters his own faith in believing that God is for him and will deliver him from the hand of the enemy.
Dear Saints, the Lord has delivered you from the power of sin and death. Be reminded that He is your peace. He is your hope. And do not be dismayed but, rather, be at rest in Christ.
