A Trust Kept

Remember the Lord’s Death, until He comes. This is the testimony of the church. This is a charge given to us to remember that Jesus died on the cross for sinners. It is the lifeblood of our Gospel message of Jesus Christ, crucified for sinners.

We are not ashamed of this message. We know that God had to die for sinners because sinners cannot atone for their own sins. And so we preach Christ crucified.

We also know that death could not hold Him. Part of the reason we so boldly preach Christ crucified is that we also preach Christ raised from the dead. We are crucified in Christ and we are also raised in Christ.

Our sin is nailed to the cross with Christ Jesus and we have risen from the dead with Him in His Resurrection. We have been given life by His Holy Spirit.

We keep His trust in remembering His death, and we also remember that we have risen with Him to new life by that same Holy Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead.
